Yard Work II

Sunday was another beautiful day.  We were up and at the 9:15 AM service at Oakpointe Church in Novi which is only a few minutes from our campground.  We felt like we hit a homerun.  We liked the music, the service and the people.
Also, after the service they have bagels and coffee set up in the large foyer.  We were happy to meet some folks who came over and talked to us.
Ann and Bruce have been coming to the church for a few years and we chatted for a while.  It's nice when people introduce themselves.  We will be back!

Next we had some errands to run.  We dropped off some items at Wal-Mart's recyclable counter, and also put some things in the food/shoe bins at the far corner of the parking lot.  Then we set out to get a grass trimmer.  The grass on our campsite hasn't been mowed in about 10 days and it looks pretty bad.  We didn't want to buy a lawn mower and decided on a $30 electric grass trimmer.
It was working fine when a neighbor offered his mower and I took him up on it.  While I was at it, I mowed the ladies 'yard' next to ours.  Nothing like a newly mowed lawn to enjoy.  By now I think you may have figured I like yard work.  I get some exercise and I get instant satisfaction of getting another project done.  Plus it looks nice and I feel like a responsible citizen in the neighborhood.
Later, we cooked some steaks on the grill and I took a walk around the lake.  Next we enjoyed another campfire down by the water.  A neighbor came over and chatted a minute and it was a perfect evening.  We also watched some baseball and that was it for us.  It was a great weekend!

Thank you for viewing the Roadrunner Chronicles!  And thanks for 'Following' and for your comments ~ we love them!  Hope your Monday is a good one!

  1. Yes, we all enjoy receiving comments regarding our posts. You are right about that! Glad you found a church to attend nearby that you felt so "at home" in. Your newly mowed lawn looks nice!

Enjoy the rest of your week.
