South Fork Again

The popular 1980's TV show 'Dallas' was set on the fictional 'South Fork Ranch'.  We used to watch it all the time.  Do you remember it?

Yesterday we went to South Fork---only this South Fork was a different South Fork.  It is the Big South Fork and a National River and Recreation Area the stretches from Tennessee and into Kentucky.
It looked like it was going to be a nice day and we planned on a picnic and a pleasant drive.  Sure enough, it took us about 90 minutes to get there and we saw some beautiful country.
We drove west from Oneida down the Leatherwood Ford Road to the river access area.
There we saw some folk out their with kayaks and canoes and a couple of guys with backpacks roughing it.
We ate a picnic lunch along the river and then did the group picture thing.
We continued our drive over to Bandy Creek Visitor Center and Campground.
They have some horses to rent, a large swimming pool and a campground with over 100 sites.  We drove through the campground which has some pull through sites and some long ones that can accommodate the longer RVs.

After that we continued our drive returning home in time for some grass cutting.
After dinner Mike and I went over to Jeremy's for a long overdue game of Monopoly.  Jeremy usually cleans our clock but he took it easy on us and Mike was the big winner.

That was our Saturday on a Labor Day Weekend.  Thanks for your many comments, for participating in the poll and hope you are enjoying the holiday.

See you next time on the Roadrunner Chronicles!

Is the Road Runner still in the shop?
Sorry to say, I don't read your blog very much anymore. My life just got too busy with work family and all.
Hope you are still enjoying the full time life.
