It's Friday in Maynardville

Sometimes it is easy to lose track of time.  Especially when you spend a few days in the hospital.  The good news is that progress continues for Pam and we are very thankful for that.  Stevens-Johnson Syndrome is taking a while to get over, but I am glad to say we are headed in the right direction.

Today's progress centered around improvement on her face, mouth and neck.  SJS affects a lot of different things but the predominant one is how it is affecting her skin.  It is acting like a bad sunburn around her face and neck and she is now peeling ever so slowly.  The rest of her body has the rash but it is slowly making progress as well.

Pam took a shower today, sat outside a couple of times, napped and ate a little more.  She is slowly regaining her strength.  It helps when she gets some nourishment.  The sores in her mouth are healing up so she can get some food down.  Tonight is was Joan's Tennessee cooking that tasted great:  fried potatoes, beans and cornbread.  Pam loved it.

I spent the day with Noah and played checkers, UNO and got some good wresting in with him.  His is 8 years old and Jeremy/Michelle's son, Joan/Mike's grandson.  He's a good little guy.  We put up a hammock and I showed him the overlap golf grip and how to line up for his 8 iron and 3 woods shots.

I repaired the ladder ball game.
Their dog Fisher had chewed a couple of the legs and the blue bar.  I figured out how to shorter them and fix it so it will stand upright again.  Noah and I had a few of those games today too.

I also got a chance to do some grass trimming and use Mike's new power washer on their wooden deck.
Joan is going to stain it when the weather stays dry for a couple of days.  I also used the power washer on the Honda engine and it looks like a new car again.

Hope you are having a good week and that it went by quickly for you!  Thanks for joining us on the Roadrunner Chronicles today!

  1. Glad to hear that Pam is making good progress in her recovery. Sure sounds like a nasty business that SJS. Good to see you're being kept very busy too!

  2. We are glad Pam is getting better and able to just rest and be. I know it is good to be where you are at this time... a benefit of being fulltime. You guys take care, rest and soak it all in at this time.
