In June, we headed to the west coast and Sierras to be with my brothers and their wives for a Warner Brother Reunion - something we try to do every couple of years. Here are some of the places we stopped along the way:
- Kirtland AFB FamCamp, Albuquerque NM
- Canyon Motel and RV Park, Williams AZ
- Yucaipa County Campground, Yucaipa CA
- Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield CA
- The Lakes RV Resort, Chowchilla CA
- Angels Camp RV Park, Angels Camp CA
- Marty's Cabin, Arnold CA
Or, if you prefer and find this easier to navigate, here is a static map:
Though we drove a lot of miles in June, we still we under budget on our fuel.
Biggest Expenses
Campgrounds were a big challenge for us and we decided to not sweat it. High season is the summer time in most places (especially in California) and the costs go up.
Large One Time Cost Item
Our large one-time cost was for air fare and associated travel for Pam to attend a funeral of a friend back in Virginia Beach.
Monthly Average
Since this is the first month of our 'fiscal year', this is also the average as we begin 'Living the Dream', Year 8! We sold our home, downsized, bought the Roadrunner and left Fairfax, VA in June 2009 and have been full-timers ever since then.
That's a snapshot of how we're feeling about the cost of things on this Full-Time Journey. We are in month 85 of Living the Dream.
Hopefully, some of the thoughts and figures are of some interest/value/curiosity. If you'd like a blank spreadsheet of what I use I'd be glad to send you it at no charge to do with what you wish.
Thanks for joining us today on the Roadrunner Chronicles!
