Bear Canyon Hike

We had great weather on Sunday for another hike in the Catalinas -- this time up a different canyon at the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area outside of Tucson.

But first we had breakfast at a local spot - Bobo's Restaurant.  Its a popular spot and we had to wait a few minutes for a table.  So we had time for a couple of photos.
We met Judy at Sabino Canyon and got more photos.
Having got the group photos done, we decided on our route.  We took the shuttle part way up Bear Canyon and then started our hike.
This may be our favorite trail so far.
It was great to be with Judy again because she is very familiar with the area and pointed out a lot of things.
It was a good trail and the canyon was pretty spectacular.
There are seven crossings over the 'river' along the trail.  It had rained the day before so the water was up a little bit.

It was good walk and not too hot.
And we had plenty of opportunities for pictures.
We spent a couple of hours on the trail and headed back down the mountain.
It was another great day with good friends hiking in Bear Canyon.

Thanks for joining us today on the Roadrunner Chronicles!  Until next time...

  1. Looks like you all had a great hike up in Bear Canyon. Being from Tucson I think it is a real treat to come across water flowing through streams that are usually dry most of the year. Glad you are having a good time in my backyard.
