Getting Some Work Done

The Freightliner mechanics came out to our parking space and we went over our repair/maintenance list with them.
We have level sites, 50 amp service and water fill up and a sewer dump station while we are here.  N/C for customers so it is a good deal. A little tight quarters, but no problem.

Before we left for Chick-Fil-A, I stopped by the office and turned in my application to join the Freightliner Chassis Owners Club.  I save 5% on the total bill.  One year membership is $15 so I am bound to save some money on that deal.

It occurred to me as we were driving around that I have been spelling Gafney wrong.  This is our second or third time here and it spelled "Gaffney".  I noticed blog friend Paul spelled it that way and I thought he had it wrong.  Nope.  It was me so between looking at Paul's recent comment here and looking at the signs --- yep I got that one wrong.

Kind of like Fort Meyers, FL.  I was spelling it that way until a reader got irritated enough to say, "Spell it right!" -  whoops - I know now it is Ft Myers.

Got me thinking to some other helpful folks along the way:  Lorraine, Therressa, and Jessica.  I am currently working on losing a few pounds.  I am currently moving downward slowly and have lost about 8, so I am halfway there.

Years ago I remember Lorraine who said something about 'Portion Control' and that rings a bell now when I go for seconds or have too much on my plate.  Then Therressa introduced me to the LoseIt! app which basically is a calorie counter.

Recently Jessica, who is a personal trainer, talked about having small snacks every couple of hours instead of starving yourself all day and eating one meal.  When I weight to have one meal, my body thinks it will be a long time before another one and stores it all up as fat.  By having small snacks every 2-3 hours, it increases my body's metabolism and I ended up losing pounds quicker.

Spelling errors and losing weight -- all on the same post!  Who knew that was going to be part of today's blog...?

While the Roadrunner was in the shop we spent a couple of hours at Chick-Fil-A restaurant.  While I worked Pam found a campground for us on Friday night near Savannah.  She called and got that set up.  We found lunch at a grocery store deli and now I am at a Starbucks.  Their internet was pretty slow but they are transitioning to a new provider.

That's all for now on the Roadrunner Chronicles!  Thanks for joining us!

  1. Wow, I'm honored! Now if we can just manage to meet up on the road one of these days instead of on the blog...

We're done here at the Thurmond COE, just trying to stay out of the way of all the Masters crowd. I know you'd love to be out on the course watching it all! ;c)

    1. That should be "down". Duoh! Fat fingers strike again (and again, and again).

    2. Yes we would! What special memories of being there two years ago! When I watch it on TV it still doesn't do justice to the finely manicured grounds. What a place. Come on Phil! Win another one!

  2. Hope you enjoyed the Chick-Fil-A. They have broiled chicken nuggets now and they taste pretty darn good. The container they come in is a bear to open though. Hope your RV service is reasonable.

    1. Thanks Tom! We will see. Going to check out in a few moments and see what the numbers are. Somehow I think a lot of that money we saved by being parked in Virginia Beach the last few months is going to be soon...
