Virginia Beaching

Today I wanted to share what we have been doing in Virginia Beach with a few pictures.

One day we went downtown near the boardwalk.  Right now is not the high season for tourists and there are plenty of 50%-off sales going on in the beach T-Shirt shops.  Perfect time to buy a sweat shirt and hat.

Some businesses have closed down for the season.
I love love love Virginia Beach.  It has become my favorite beach town.  Downtown is very well maintained, it is clean, it has tourists even in the off season and the boardwalk and beach are up-to-date and well done.

Later in the day we wandered over to the new area of our Sea Mist RV campground.  They are finishing up the landscaping, working on a drainage area and putting the finishing touches on the clubhouse and office.  The campground is also is going to be paved.
All sites will have 50 amp service.  We are not anxious to move just yet but may have to so they can upgrade the older part of the campground.

Access to the beach is a little different from the new campground, but it is still pretty great.

The weather moving through the eastern half of the U.S. hadn't hit us yet so we were able to get out onto the golf course.  It sprinkled a few rain drops but it was still warm enough and nice enough to have an enjoyable day on the course.

Yesterday we were back at it working at the Habitat houses in Red Mill.  Pam was talking with Christine who was there with Vivian.  Meanwhile, over in the other house, Dennis and Tom were custom making window sills.
Stephen and Bill were hanging doors, Eric was working on baseboard in the garage and Paul and Dan were installing posts and railing on the front porch.
It was a little nasty for a spell when a storm moved through, but Eric, Pam, Christine and Vivian (and Tom not shown), enjoyed lunch outside.
It has been a good week!

Hope you are having a good one too!  And thanks for viewing the Roadrunner Chronicles today!

  3. It looks real quiet downtown. That golf course might give me nightmares. I seen to have an issue with hitting balls over water. I think I would have to have a lot of golf balls with me to complete a round :(
