Yes ~ Pam is feeling up to the trip so we intend to get a good night's sleep and make our way back to the Roadrunner. If we leave here (Maynardville, TN) tomorrow at 7 AM we should be there (New Hudson, MI) by about 3 PM. Pam is continuing to gain some strength and is feeling a little better today. Her recovery will take a while but we are headed in the right direction.
We have a doctor's appointment for her on Tuesday (Dr is out on Monday) and we are looking forward to that.
Today was a 'typical Saturday' at Joan and Mike's. When we come to see them, Joan and I (the early risers in the house) go into town to the McDonald's for the daily order of senior coffee's, sausage biscuits, hotcakes and Diet Cokes.
Then we go back home and wait for everyone else to get up while we drink our coffee and watch the news and or talk.
When we finally got underway, I helped Mike push around a mower to hook it up to his pulley system and hoist it into his barn so he could work on it.
Later, he and I headed over to Roger's to pick up another mower. We brought it back on his trailer and Mike use his new power washer on it. That power washer really does a great job.
And when we got back, Joan got some help from Noah and they started staining the latice on the deck.
It is looking good!
Then, while Mike was working on mowers, I decided to power wash the vinyl siding on the house. That was a bit of a job and took me most of the day. In between breaks and side trips to the store, I got it all done.
Late in the after noon, Mike and I went over to Eddie's. He also has a lawn mower business and a lot of mowers on his property that he uses for spare parts.
Mike got a belt, a box cover and a couple of other things. $10 later, we were on our way back home via one of his famous back roads. It was a nice evening for a drive.
For dinner, Pam requested chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes and Joan obliged. I need to work more on portion control but it was another outstanding dinner. I showered and am over at Michelle and Jeremy's using their internet service to post this blog.
Next, I'll probably go back to Joan and Mikes and watch some TV with Pam and Mike and Joan. It's been a good time in Maynardville and also memorable for the bout with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. But we always look forward to seeing everyone here and love our time with them.
That was our Saturday ~ Hope you are having a great weekend. And Thanks! for viewing the Roadrunner Chronicles!

We are super relieved to hear Pam is recovering enough to get back to your home, it's always so much nicer to recuperate in your own home, just take it easy and if she gets super tired stop for the night, We hope the road to full recovery will be smooth. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
ReplyDeleteGlad Pam is doing better. Take it easy and we'll pray for an uneventful trip back to Michigan. Hopefully our paths will cross soon.
